Los gigantes white tail deer tournament
Invitation
The national association of diversified cattle raisers, wildlife
breeders, summon the ranch owners national and foreign hunters to the
2006-2007 los Gigantes white deer tournament in association with miller
life, based on the following rules and regulations.
Rules and regulations
The people that can participate in this tournament are the ranch owners
who are active members of ANGADI and were registered in our main
offices in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas as well as those hunters, national
and foreign, that are hunting in their ranches and comply with the legal
requirements established by the federal authorities (SEMARNAT and SEDENA)
to carry out that sport. Important notification: ranch owners or hunters
that were registered through any of the ANGADI delegation will not
participate.
Categories and prizes
All the trophies can be presented in the ANGADI tournament considering
these were harvested in extensive ranches low fenced (not intensive)
during the established hunting season dates.
The white tailed deer subspecies that can participate in this tournament
is the texanus o.v. white tailed deer (Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and
Tamaulipas)
Prizes
For the first three places of the subspecies considered in this event,
the ranch owner and the hunter will obtain a bronze prize based on the
following categories:
1. - Antlers classified as “typical”
2. - Antlers classified as “n0n-typical”
There will also be 28 special prizes
The first three places on nine different special categories considered
in this tournament. There will also be a special bronce prize for the
hunter that obtains first
Second and third place and will receive a jacket based on the following:
1. - There will be a special prize to the 8 point with the highest score
(boone and crockett gross). The antlers will enter as an 8 point typical
with 4 tines on each side and if there were any abnormal points, these
can’t measure more than 3 inches and will not be included in the
measurement. If an 8 point antler has a broken tine on the main beam, it
will be considered a 9 pointer. If an antler has 7 points and also has a
broken tine on a main beam, it will be considered as an 8 pointer.
2. - There will be three prizes awarded to the ranch owners or hunters
who register the antlers with the widest spread.
3.- There will be three prizes awarded to the ranch owners or hunters
who register the antlers with the most points, based on the boone and
crockett measuring system (g’s) and if there is a tie, the antlers with
the highest score will win.
4. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register the antlers with the longest drop tine. It is
considered a drop tine a point that comes out of the main beam from the
inside, outside or from the lower part of the main beam and drops down.
5. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register the antlers with the longest tine. The longest tine
is considered as the longest point that comes out from the interior,
exterior or the upper part that goes up (g’s).
6. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register the antlers with the longest main beam.
These special prizes will be changed to the longest kicker.
7. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register a 6 point typical antlers with the highest score (boone
&crockett). The antlers that will be considered are the onesb that have
3 points on each beam and may not have any abnormal points.
8. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register 9 point typical antlers with the highest score (bonne
& crockett gross).the antlers that will be considered are those that
have 4 points on one main beam and 5 on the other main beam, if there
some abnormal points, these should not measure more than 3 inches and
will not be considered for the scoring.
9. - There will be three first prizes awarded to the ranch owners or
hunters who register the antlers with the biggest mass. The biggest mass
is considered the ones that has the largest sum of the four
circumferences based on the boone & crockett scoring method (h’s).
There will also be a special prize for women.
10.-There will be a prize awarded of a bronze plaque to the lady that
brings the antlers with the highest score typical or non-typical.
Prizes for hunters
Hunters that win in any of the categories will get a jacket that as has
the ANGADI’s “torneo los gigantes” logo, the sponsor’s company logo, and
the name of the hunter.
Hunters that were not awarded in any of the above mentioned categories
but their trophy scored over 160 points will receive a jacket with the
160+ club logo, the name of the hunter, and ANGADI’s “torneo los Gigantes” and the sponsor’s logos.
All the hunters that register a set of antlers will receive a cap with
ANGADI’s “torneo los Gigantes” logo
An invitation to ANGADI’s congress will be sent to all participants. The
event will take place __________________________.
Rules and regulations
1.-It will be considered as the white tailed subspicies, the one
speicified on the official registration of the ranch. If for any
reason the subspecie specified does not correspond to the real subspecie,
the ranch owner must send a written request to make the change
immediately directly to ANGADI’s main offices in nuevo laredo, tam,
mexico, with the undertanding that the change must be done and confirmed
before the white tailed deer hunting season starts.
2.-We will only accept the trophies that were harvested in extensive
ranches (low fenced) and the trophy tags were obtained in our main
offices in Nuevo Laredo, Tam, Mexico.
The specimens can be presented for measuring in our Nuevo Laredo offices
and must have the corresponding tag adhered to the antler
The specimens can be brought to our offices in Nuevo Laredo, tam, Mexico
or at the authorized offices which will be announced beforehand.
During the measurement of the trophy neither the ranch owner nor the
hunter can be present.
The measurement of the antlers will be made by judges assigned by the
organizing committee for that event and they are:

7. - The antlers presented will be measured based on the official boone
and crockett club measuring system (gross)
This committee adopted the “gross” measuring system in order to give the
trophy the maximum recognition of its score.
8.- The classification for typical and non-typical will be determined
based on the points obtained by measuring the abnormal tines
(non-typical) according to the “boone and crockett gross”. All those
antlers whose measurement of the abnormal tines is more than 8 inches,
will be classified as non-typical; therefore all tines that measure less
or equal to 8 inches will be considered as typical.
9. - All the antlers that were winners of any of the three first prizes
of typical or non-typical will not participate in any of the special
prizes and likewise these will not participate in any other prizes,
10.- The reception of antlers will start Nov ____ and until
Januray 2007 at 18:00 hrs.
This also applies to those ranches that were authorized with an
extension of their hunting season based on their management plan.
Office hours for measuring antlers will be Monday thru Friday from 9:00
until 18:00 hrs and from 9:00 until 13:00 hrs on sundays. Measuring
hours on December 24 and December 31 will be from 9:00 until 13:00 hrs,
December 25 and January 1st will be closed.
Whatever is not considered in these rules and regulations or if any
objections were presented, these will be resolved by the organizing
committee and the authorized judges and their decision can not be
appealed.
In case there is a tie in any of the categories previously mentioned,
the prize will be given based on these rules and regulations.
